Fashion Friday – Pink Blazer: Splurge vs. Steal
Posted by Candie (May 24, 2013 at 1:00 am), Leave a CommentDudettes. Do you remember back when I did a little post about yellow blazers? If not, take a quick peek here and then come right back because my world has just been rocked.
Basically, in that post from yesteryear, I began by professing my love for yellow blazers and by the end of the post I had completely fallen in love with this hot pink blazer from J.Crew that I just couldn’t bring myself to spend over $350 on. Sigh…
Exhibit A
Well, you know when you can’t stop thinking about something that you wanted and totally regret not biting the bullet and just putting it on a credit card? No? Just me?
Well, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it! And then something magical happened. I found this great blog called Penny Pincher Fashion that I’m probably way late to the party with but needless to say I’m completely sucked into her entire blog. It also helps that the author is from Upstate New York so I might have a slight girl crush but anyways…
I came across this post featuring this blazer…
And then I squealed. Like a high pitched, teenage girl at a One Direction concert. The blazer above is from H&M and of course I cannot find it anywhere…BUT she linked to a similar jacket that *gasp!* is still in stock!!
Hot Pink Nautical Button Blazer from Forever 21 for $32.80
I’ll see you in 3-10 business days, beautiful new hot pink blazer!
Anyone else brave enough to rock this hot pink beauty? Maybe its too bright for your liking? Let me hear it!

Posted by Candie (May 22, 2013 at 11:29 am), Join the DiscussionSummer is around the corner and with lots of BBQ’s and outdoor parties coming up and absolutely no free time, I’ve had to come up with a quick go to dish to bring with me. Aside from being my “safe” food – you know, for those parties that tend not to be so gluten-free friendly, it’s been a hit at every party I’ve brought it to. I mean, when is Mexican food a fail? The answer is never.

Ingredients
1 can of refried beans
8 oz. sour cream
1 cup mayo
1 package taco seasoning
1 large tomato
3 scallions
1 tiny can of chopped olives
1 bag of shredded lettuce
1 8oz. bag of mexican mix cheese
Directions
1. In an 11 x 9 x 1.5 inch casserole pan , spread the can of re-fried beans evenly
2. In a separate bowl, mix together your sour cream, mayo and taco seasoning. Mix well, and then spread as your 2nd layer on top of the re-fried beans
3. Chop up your tomato and spread as your 3rd layer
4. Chop up 3 scallions and spread as your 4th layer
5. Sprinkle your chopped olives on top of your scallions as your 5th layer
6. Evenly spread out your shredded lettuce as your 6th layer
7. Sprinkle your cheese as your last later, on top of the lettuce.
Serve with corn chips and enjoy!
